Vinegar Knickers return to Edinburgh for a second year with sketches designed to make you bleed with laughter. After the success of last years show ‘Your Mum’ the girls went away and very nearly opened a fish and chip shop with their mums. But their limited knowledge of fish brought them as far as the Waitrose fish counter, the less said about the chips the better and we all know working with your mother is a disaster, especially if she insists on giving a free pair of knickers away with each bag of chips sold. So, in celebration of their failure, they’ve brought you another show filled with shockingly observant character comedy to suit all blood types; dark, devious and dangerously funny.

Vinegar Knickers pack wit and energy into everyday situations to bring you a petri dish of sketches about life and stuff. Gulp in disbelief at the over-familiar therapist, wince at the wicked wedding planner and strap yourself in for Edinburgh’s first cameo from the one and only JUSTIN BIEBER (lookalike). Vinegar Knickers bring you Sketchy Beast, a dressing up box of surreal and borderline autistic characters for your viewing pleasure; with inappropriate outbursts from a primary school
headmistress and a suicide obsessed housewife.

Vinegar Knickers is made up of comedy performers Samantha Baines, Katie Burnetts, Harriet Fisher and Jennifer Moon. The girls write and perform all their own material and have achieved much critical acclaim. They have recently been described as ‘Comedy powerhouses’ by Stylist Magazine. Vinegar Knickers enjoyed resounding success at last year’s Edinburgh Festival in their sketch show ‘Your Mum’, at C venues and are returning to Edinburgh this year with ‘Sketchy Beast’ a show that hopes to be bigger and better than ever before. The group also perform at a number of London gigs at well known jaunts on the London Comedy Circuit, such as ‘Sketchercise’, ‘Thomas Hardie and co’, ‘The Cheeky Beggars Banquet’ and ‘Comedy Fondue’.

This is a huge venture for us and a show we truly believe in. There is not enough female comedy around, we need to change this! Anything you can give will be hugely appreciated.

Making a pledge

Hello one and all! So a few people have said they are unsure how to make a pledge. When you click make a pledge a box comes up on the right hand side asking how much you'd like to donate. You then have to set a pay pal account, this doesnt mean you are setting up your own wefund project its just an account with paypal and then you're good to go! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, it really will go a long way! xx

  1. Pledge £5 or more

    £5 will get us 18 flyers, or 37 badges, or a technician to operate our show for 20 minutes.

    In return for this lovely donation you will receive our undying love and a personal thank you.

  2. Pledge £10 or more

    £10 wil get us 357 flyers, or 21 minutes in our venue, or several props, or a technician for almost half of one show.

    In return we will give you our undying love, a personal thank you and 1 free ticket to our Edinburgh show.

  3. Pledge £20 or more

    £20 will get one of us a third of the way up to Edinburgh on the train, or 714 flyers, or 148 badges, or one night accommodation.

    In return you will get all of the above plus a mention in our programme.

  4. Pledge £50 or more

    £50 will pay for half a shows worth of renting the space, or 1785 flyers, a technician for almost two shows, or practically all of our props!

    In return we will give you all of the above, plus a signed photo (I know, how good)

  5. Pledge £100 or more

    £100 really will go so far! It will pay for one days rental of our venue, or all our t-shirts for us to flyer in, or 3571 flyers, or a technician for 3 and a half performances, or all our costumes, or the whole train ticket for one of us to travel to Edinburgh.

    In return you will get 2 free tickets to our Edinburgh or London Show, you will be named as a producer of the show in the programmer, and get a signed photo!

  6. Pledge £200 or more

    £200 would just be so helpful! This would pay for all our badges, or 7142 flyers, or rental of the venue for two days, or train tickets for two of us to travel to Edinburgh, or a technician to operate six and a half of our shows.

    In return you will get all of the above, plus we will incorporate your name into one of our sketches!

  7. Pledge £500 or more

    £500 is a quarter of our target and you would really put a huge smile on a sketch groups face as well as paying for all our flyers, or rental of the venue for 5 days, or accommodation for one of us for almost the whole festival, train tickets for all of us to get up to Edinburgh - which would really help as there are 4 of us in the show after all, or a technician to operate our show for 16 days!

    In return you will get 4 free tickets to any of our Edinburgh or London shows, named as a producer in the programme, a signed photo, a sketch with your name in it and a drink with us after the show you come to see!

  8. Pledge £1000 or more

    If you pledge £1000 i'm pretty sure one of us would cry. This would pay for the venue for a third of the run, or all our flyers, posters, badges, t-shirts, props, travel up to Edinburgh, or a technician to operate the show for the whole run!

    In return we will talk about how amazing you are until the end of time, plus you will get four free tickets to any of our Edinburgh or London shows, you will be named as a producer in the programme, you will receive a signed photograph, have drinks with us after the show you come to see and get a date with the Knicker of your choice...yes you heard me!
