"That's Entertainment"
Written by Phil Preece.
PS Productions first produced a one night only production of "That's Entertainment" in February 2011 at The Barons Court Theatre, London.
Due to two sell out audiences and outstanding reviews we were then asked to return to Barons Court Theatre in Autumn 2011 for a three week run by Ron Philips - Theatre Manager.
Being a young company with no funding what so ever we were unable to accept the offer as we could not afford the theatre hire.
However - we have been fortunate to organise a small-scale revival production of "That's Entertainment" with the assurance from Barons Court that the offer still stands for a three week run should we receive funding to hire the venue.
We are also intending to take "That's Entertainment" to The Edinburgh Festival 2012 for a week-long run.
PS Productions are therefore appealing for funding towards a three week 'Off West-End' run and a week long run in Edinburgh.
In return we promise to offer investors the opportunity to become a Patron of PS Productions and regular invitations to Board Meetings, Performances and other Events, Research and Development Sessions with Artistic Director/Author - Phil Preece and much more.

PRESS RELEASE
Back due to popular demand and having recently filmed the TV Sitcom Adaptation at the request of The BBC with JTL Productions Ltd – PS Productions are proud to present a revival of this double bill of ‘back-stage’ comedies by the author of cult comedy ‘House of Pain’.
That’s Entertainment is two stories in one……
The first half of the show ‘Mr Blue Sky’ is set in a dark and miserable dressing-room of a rock and roll venue and represents the bottom end of the entertainment industry whilst ‘That’s Entertainment’ takes us to the very opposite end of the scale!
MR BLUE SKY
They say if you can remember the sixties you weren't there.
Well ageing rocker Vince Meager [Steve Dolton] was. And it's true - he can't. Or the seventies. Actually the eighties are a bit of a blur, and as for the nineties...
He's still going the rounds playing the old hits after nearly forty years, but when a young fan named Kirsty [Kelly Ward] comes backstage to see him after the show he finds she's looking for more than an autograph. And Vince begins to discover feelings his rock and roll lifestyle has left no time for - until now.
Starring Steve Dolton and Kelly Ward
THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT
We are introduced to Joe [Paul Findlay] and Lee [Steven Humpherson] – The Jolee Boys - a couple of national TV stars at the top of their game.
We meet them backstage at an Awards Night where the entertainment industry has turned out in force to honour the duo’s prime-time success.
But in Phil Preece’s usual style, the play reveals that behind the scenes not everything is rosy in TV land. Backstage - Joe and Lee are locked in a battle their audience would never suspect.
Starring Steven Humpherson and Paul Findlay.
REVIEWS:
"5 STARS"
"Steven Humpherson perfectly captures the essence of coke addicted, almost alcoholic, light entertainment star and has what can only be described as phenomenal stage presence."
"To say that he is perfectly matched by Paul Findlay is an understatement. These two actors have an obvious and easy camaraderie on stage which enables the exceptionally quick fire lines and the sharp retorts to come as if directly from the spleen. Every word and gesture is well aimed, well timed and delivered nigh on perfectly."
"I do not know where this double bill is playing next but I will say hunt it down and see it. That's Entertainment is certainly what I call entertainment."

"Paul Findlay, as Joe, one half of the duo concerned, gave a startlingly good, highly physical performance of a veteran comedian on the edge and he was never less than engaging and often hysterically funny."
"Steve Humpherson, as the other half – suave coke-fiend Lee - gave a performance that was highly creditable and also greatly amusing, ranging from the sinister to the childlike and made great use of an endlessly expressive face."
