** UPDATE: We're now expanding our budget to include salaries for the singers. This was not factored into the original 600 EUR budget. So, here we are, just some girls standing in front of some donors, asking them to MAKE IT RAIN, Y'ALL! **
Mica Moca is a gigantic three building complex, the remnants of an old treasure vault factory. It is open and ripe with possibility. In the main room, personal objects are set up around the room. They are offerings for the public. Each collection has a cell phone number and a sort of aural menu attached to it. The public is being asked to pick up their phones for a free, private concert with the singer of their choice. The singers are housed in various rooms throughout the complex, unseen by their audience. It is an intimate concert for two. But it is also the atmosphere of sound as the voices pour out onto the courtyard below and intermingle with the people sitting enjoying a beer, a bratwurst, a conversation among friends. We're strangers in a song.
The project is two fold: a one-night live sound installation in Berlin and a parallel documentary to be released online soon after the project's completion. As rewards we would like to offer personal thank you presented as an art installation on the night of the performance. We would also like to offer a video of verbal thank yous to our donors from afar. This video will be available on vimeo, and be available to download along with the documentary. For our larger donors, we would like to offer a sort or reenactment of the evening with a private concert via skype or mobile phone.
