The Bridge Theatre Company presents ‘Show Me the World’

Written by Simon Vinnicombe, directed by Simon Stephens.

This urgent play is brought to life in a collision of scenes and is about the trials and challenges that modern day youth experience in this world of social networking and peer pressure.

The show follows the lives of three central characters Bill, Nicola and Dan who are all struggling with the changes happening to and around them. People are moving on while others want things to stay exactly the same. Work is overpowering lives and a big personal decision is ruining someone’s life.

The play makes you think hard about being an outsider in a world where everyone else seems to belong. It shows how everyone has problems and posting this fake image of yourself for everyone else to see isn’t necessarily the way forward. We ask if people are forgetting how to interact with one another socially.

The company is formed of thirteen actors all aged 18 to 19, so those who are living this life now bring the play to you. Multimedia is used strongly to enhance the acting on stage and create the feel of our modern day world obsessed with our online image of who we are. We also use the music of artists such as Blur, Radiohead and Muse to keep up the current theme of the piece.

We have previewed the show at the Brighton Fringe Festival and it was extremely well received by the audiences. We are also doing another preview in London on the 28th July at Theatre 503, Battersea - www.theatre503.com - Box Office 02079787040.

The Edinburgh run will start from the 4th of August and run till the 28th of August at The Underbelly’s Iron Belly - www.underbelly.co.uk - Box Office boxoffice@underbelly.co.uk 0844 545 8252

We would really appreciate it if you could support us in whatever way possible. We believe the show is a great piece of theatre that makes you question the world we live in now and the way we are growing up. It connects to all age groups and there really is something in it for everyone. Our dream is to take this show to Edinburgh and share this play, which we really believe in, with as many people as we can.

We really do appreciate all who have supported us so far and those who will do so in the future.

Thank you so much,
