‘I have never seen a bath tub or its drain create so many surprises in the theatre… I laughed out loud, gasped with horror, spontaneously applauded... and [was] suddenly moved to tears at the end.’
**** Fringe Review, Brighton
Ulysses has survived the war, but the journey home will be his hardest test.
Set entirely in a bathtub, this fantastical adaptation recasts Odysseus as a modern war veteran battling the monsters in his mind.
Turbulent storms and fantastical monsters stalk him at every port and what should be a joyous voyage home to his wife becomes a nightmare more torturous than the conflict he has left behind. With off the wall imagery and striking characters, Nobody’s Home was devised in consultation with combat veterans. Grafted Cede and Theatre Témoin present an exploration of post-war trauma and the soldier's journey home in this modern retelling of The Odyssey that was lauded at the Brighton Fringe and has toured the USA to great acclaim.
‘…Far more than an updated version of an old tale.’
