All the footage in our clip is rehearsal footage, none of the puppets are finished and the cast are not yet in costume, because we are not quite finished yet...
Shakespeare’s most powerful story of tragic love is set here in a Verona unlike any you have ever seen (we hope); a world filled with music, magic and passion. Here really old feuds are given new life, as an array of beautiful hand crafted puppets combine with an ensemble of performers to retell Shakespeare’s story of passion, beauty, lust and pride.
Focusing heavily on creative theatre making, imagination and vivid theatrical storytelling, Night Light set out to inspire, excite and entertain in this unique interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, performed in just 75 minutes. This is a bold attempt. Over the last two years we have worked as a company to try to make every elements of this show unique and detailed.
We have been co-commissioned by two great venues – The Junction (Cambridge) and The New Wolsey (Ipswich), we are looking to raise £2,000 from We Fund to fully realise the show in September and to get as many people as humanly possible to come and see it. This money will also help get to our next tour off the ground.
We can offer a variety of pledges, from the standard buckets of thanks, and space on our website, to private Night Light Orchestra commissions and gigs – Night Light Orchestra are the musical wing of our company, they busk and play together for the public whenever possible, they are regularly booked for gigs and parties (including recently a lady’s 90th birthday!), they offer up a unique evening’s worth of entertainment. For more information on the Orchestra visit www.nightlighttheatre.co.uk
We will also be offering time with the company, and workshops to those larger pledges, as Rich Rusk, the Director of the company, has 10 years experience of creating devised work and running workshops, we can tailor make sessions to fit the individual/s. Or if you have a particular request please let us know...
