The Project: Cycling around whole Spain (ca. 4600km), from village to village as a cycling courier

At the start of May 2011 I am going cycle around Spain, covering a rough distance of around 4600km in two months. Not only am I going to make this happen, but also set the challenge to learn Spanish along the way after taking part in a 2-week Intensive Spanish Course in Salamanca that is sponsored by Linguaschool, start date: 02.05.2011 – 14.05.2011.

To engage with the country and to give back to the Spanish community I have set up the campaign – Mission Spain, Nadine the cycle courier – where I pass messages, important notes or objects from the village I leave to the next one (of course for free). Already have my first run: Susana, a friend here in London is getting a note / parcel for her sister and her little baby in Bilbao ready.

As a journalist by profession I am going to document my adventure, write about the people I meet / the messages I pass on and their stories plus “lesson learnt: Everything around the bike / Picking up a new language” to put on my blog / website.

This sponsorship will serve as a back-up if I require more equipment or need to replace the one that I have making sure that I not only successfully finish this challenge but also come out with amazing stories and good footage to share with the rest of the world. :)
