This unique, highly innovative music and sport production brings together the traditions of Finnish and British Wrestling for an exhilarating experience.Accordion Wrestling, featuring Finnish accordion adventurer Kimmo Pohjonen and fourteen Finnish and British wrestlers, is a revival of Finnish wrestling tradition from early to mid-1900s when the accordion was used as musical accompaniment for wrestling matches.This new production will receive its UK premiere in June 2012, with performances in three venues around England.We currently have 50% of the funding required from the Arts Council England and are working hard to raise the matching 50% from a variety of sources including Wefund.Our venues will include the Barbican Centre promoting in York Hall, Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and one final performance.Exhilarating, high energy and full of humour, Accordion Wrestling is both boundary pushing art and brilliant entertainment.Join us in bringing this unforgettable production to the UK in the lead up to the Olympics.Who are we?sounduk has been creating new music events for over twelve years. In particular it has developed a reputation for creating imaginative music projects outside of the concert hall or in non-arts settings including; Earth Machine Music with Kimmo Pohjonen collaborating with four English farmers, a sound and music project in historic houses featuring cellist Natalie Clein and new commissions from Jeanette Winterson, Simon Fisher Turner and Fyfe Dangerfield. In 2011 we created a series of performances on ice instruments in an ‘urban igloo’ as part of Somerset House’s ice rink, Sonic Journeys for the Barbican and two Devon train lines, and this summer produced  Mary Hampton's tour of performances in formal gardens and follies which received 4* reviews.
