So...
The Story so far
Bristol Old Vic Young Company produced a fantastic new show Jason and Medea in November 2010. It received rave reviews and brilliant audience responses when it performed here in Bristol. It has since been SELECTED to go to the National Student Drama Festival (NSDF) and SELECTED for the International Youth Arts Festival (IYAF).
Since the funding cuts Bristol Old Vic Young Company now need public support to be able to tour this show and pass on the message that young people can create great theatre if given the opportunity and support they need.
The show was created by the company with their Director Tid as a guiding force.
Every word, image, musical stroke was found through a collaborative devising process 8 hours a week over 12 weeks from Sept – Nov.
The company involved in creating the show are aged 12 - 23, and came out of the core group of around 400 young people who attend weekly sessions as part of Bristol Old Vic Young Company.
The Next Stage
So now we want to fulfill the potential of this show by raising the funds we need to take this show up to NSDF and down to IYAF and hopefully a few places in between.
The cash you provide us with will go straight to this project and will be managed by our production manager at Bristol Old Vic, this cash will afford us to:
• Travel to the venues
• Rent accommodation
• Give the set a lick of paint
• Rig and re-design the lights
• Hire/design the costumes
• Rent rehearsal space
• Bring a brilliant piece of work back to life!

The Show
London, the 1960s, and the biggest heist the criminal underworld will ever see.
Jason pulls together a crack team of all his china plates, the Argonauts.
While Medea, his lemon curd, lies at the heart of all that's to come.
It's a right old Jackanory, full of love, vengeance, violence and adventure.
An epic quest at a local level, will it be lock stock and barrel as
they snatch the golden piece; or will everyone just end up fleeced?
With a psychedelic 60s soundtrack, a force of physicality, and enough cockney lingo
to sink a half-penny dip, you better get on the dog and bone and come and have a butchers.
