The Hound Of The Baskervilles : Radio Theatre is new production by Veni Vidi Theatre Company that takes an adaptation of Sherlock Holmes' greatest mystery and presents it in a live 'radio theatre' format.
Inspired by the famous radio broadcasts of Orson's Welles' Mercury Theatre Company of the late 1930's, the show sees just a small company actors play every single character from the tale, while using an array of sound foley props to produce every sound effect live on stage.
For audiences this is a unique theatrical experience, where they're fully immersed in the world of a late 1930's recording studio to witness a collective of radio stars who have come together to record a thrilling version of The Hound Of The Baskervilles for their listeners.
The show had an overwhelming response from audiences and reviewers from the initial short run in August 2011 which was a sellout success. Some really amazing responses came from a number of visually impaired audience members who also came to the show - since production gives blind or partially sighted audience members the chance to enjoy a theatre performance aswell, despite not seeing it visually, because of the show focus on storytelling through sound foley.
We are now fortunate to have the opportunity to re-run the show again for a longer time during Spring 2012 to allow many other people the opportunity to see the show.
The show is scheduled to run at Theatro Technis in Camden in April & May 2012 and have some substantial funds in place to go towards this but we need to raise £2,000 to enable us to met the total costs and to be able stage the show.
We've had encouragement and support from many people which we appreciate greatly but by lending a helping hand with anything you can spare as a donation, it would be of great help to us and really would allow us the chance to make the show comeback a reality.
We really would be honoured and extremely grateful by any support you can give to reach our target and we offer a number of perks as our way of saying thanks for this.
Please give to "Fund The Hound" and lets make this happen!
Thankyou
