A rare revival of the ALAN BENNETT comedy "GREEN FORMS" to be staged at the Tabard Theatre in Chiswick in aid of Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.
Leading the cast will be JANET ELLIS, television presenter and actress. The play will be directed by PAUL CLAYTON and is being produced by RICHARD HOWLE.
“Green Forms" is a great comedy play by one of our greatest playwrights, Alan Bennett. He believes in the idea of Maggie's as a cause and he's very kindly donated the rights for this production. Our production will play at the Tabard Theatre in Chiswick from the 24th to 28 January 2012. All the money we raise will be donated to Maggie's.
We need to raise £4000 in order to stage the production, which means every penny we take at the box office will go to Maggie's. We stand to raise several thousand pounds for what is a brilliant cause.
For a pledge of £100 you'll get 2 tickets to our opening gala performance, and a glass of something bubbly to make your evening even more enjoyable. You will have the knowledge that you helped lots of people have a great evening at the play, and you'll be listed as one of our patrons in the programme. You just have to click on this page where it says pledge and follow the instructions. You can pledge other amounts. You can of course be absolutely wonderful and pledge more than £100. It is 2 tickets per pledge of £100 or more. We hope that you feel this is a cause you can support.
And of course you'll get a very rare opportunity of seeing Miss Janet Ellis live on stage in a play! We do hope that you will be able to join us at the Tabard Theatre in Chiswick and have a great evening at “Green Forms". Click on our page and pledge now.
What is Maggie's?
Maggie's is about empowering people to live with, through and beyond cancer by bringing together professional help, communities of support and building design to create exceptional centres for cancer care.
Maggie’s Centres are for anyone affected by cancer. They are places where people are welcome whenever they need them – from just being diagnosed, or undergoing treatment, to post-treatment, recurrence, end of life or in bereavement.
They also welcome family and friends, as they are often deeply affected by cancer too. They know that those who love and look after someone with cancer can feel just as frightened, vulnerable and uncertain.
Visitors say that the welcome they receive at Maggie’s is what they appreciate the most. Just walking through the doors puts them at ease. This is a key part of the pioneering approach that integrates professional help with a community of support in thoughtfully designed centres, a combination that is proving highly effective in alleviating the emotional distress and practical difficulties that cancer brings. Everything provided is free of charge, so visitors can feel welcome to access support for as long as they need it.
