Help fund TheatreState's new show Git
Support the State
A unique, young company working in difficult times. This is the beginning of a very exciting journey and we would love you to join us. Any donation you can give will enable our exciting collaboration with award winning artists, Graham Reid and Jack Burke, funding the building of our dynamic installation for the innovative re-imagining of Peer Gynt.
The Show
Hiding in a mountain of televisions, computers and dirty washing, Peer’s only confidant is a Colombian sex line, he’s fallen for a girl who reminds him of his mother and worst of all, he has to get a job. Peer must make his choice to save his Mother and ultimately himself.
TheatreState’s dark tragi-comedy takes influence from Ibsen’s Peer Gynt, a boy who will do anything to avoid everything. Merging live film and theatre to explore the bombardment of virtual realities and its effects on the lost boys of the 21st century, a generation hooked on video games, marijuana and angst.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Veolia Environment and Southwark Council for their help and support.
