First-time festivalgoer Tim is at odds with his family and a misfit at school. He is a ‘secret strummer in a darkened room’, an adolescent in need of release. Tim’s passion for music leads him to Glastonbury, but how will he navigate the jungle alone? It’s easy to lose your way inside the pop-up empire. What Tim needs is A Festival Guide.
A Festival Guide is SQUINT's brand new devised piece of theatre about the history of modern music festivals, featuring a troop of 10 talented actor musicians and a score of original music composed by Rhys Lewis. The production is set to scratch in London in June, followed by a performance at Netil Market and at South Hill Park festival ‘Park Life’ in July and a tour to Leefest in August.
We hope to develop an exciting piece that will go on to tour to many more festivals and events in the summer of 2012 but need your help to get this unique project off the ground. So please, watch our little video, and listen to Rhys’ beautiful music, and pledge your support for SQUINT’s A Festival Guide.
SQUINT create bold, ensemble-driven theatre with a contemporaneous flavour. Since SQUINT’s inaugural visit to the Fringe in 2009 with Bryony Lavery’s Frozen, SQUINT has continued to unite the most auspicious theatrical talent with a rich and relevant artistic programme.
