Carry the Future With You is a charity design competition I started at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) to create a limited edition cotton bag.

Since January students were prompted around two themes, SOAS education and culture and HIV/AIDS prevention with the purpose to create a two sided bag, signed and numbered by the winning artists, with half of all the proceeds going directly to the Terrence Higgins Trust, the leading HIV & AIDS charity in the UK and the largest in Europe.

On March 10th, over 30 designs were judged by a celebrity panel and two designs and additional finalists were selected.

I have received the grant to produce the bag, which will be limited in 300, signed and numbered, and will be creating postcards including the finalists, l but need more money to host the press event.

I plan to host the press event and charity reception at a private garden at 22 Russell Square, on May 12, 2011. Drinks will be served and the event will feature music in the beautiful atmosphere of the tranquil garden.

If you donate to this project, I will personally invite you to the private press event where the bags will be launched, and depending on how much you give, I will give you advertising for your business inside the bags, and of course, gratitude and recognition at the event.

I put a lot of effort into this project, and through persistence and proactivity, was able to get this far, but need the extra support to complete the project. The more donations I receive the more people can come to this event and share the love. This is not about money, it's about generating more awareness of HIV/AIDS prevention and celebrating education and culture during these cuts.
