SQUINT create bold, ensemble-driven theatre with a contemporaneous flavour. Since SQUINT’s inaugural visit to the Fringe in 2009 with Bryony Lavery’s Frozen, SQUINT has continued to unite the most auspicious theatrical talent with a rich and relevant artistic programme.
SQUINT’s latest work, Simon Stephens' Bluebird, follows Jimmy, a London mini-cab driver, over the course of one night as he picks up a variety of 'fares'. As each passenger's secrets are revealed, Jimmy must confront his own demons and return to the site of a tragic event from his past.
Following on from an acclaimed run at the Cockpit Theatre in November 2010, SQUINT are proud to present a summer tour of their unique interpretation of Bluebird, with dates at South Hill Park, The Courtyard Theatre and Bedlam at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival already confirmed.
The cast and crew are thrilled to be back together for this summer’s revival of Bluebird, however we need your support to get us on our way! The scale of the production is part of what makes our project so unique and we would love to maintain this throughout our summer tour. So check out our trailer and if you like what you see, please pledge your support to SQUINT and become a part of creating a truly innovative and breathtaking piece of theatre.
