About Me:
Over the past year and a half I've been teaching myself game design and production whilst holding down my full time job as a professional motion graphics animator to pay the bills) and doing my fair share looking after my gorgeous one and half year old daughter.
Audio Invaders indie game project.
A game which brings a new twist to the aliens attacking earth genre. By basing the game at night the user has to wear headphones and steer their ship to be in place to shoot and attack the invading errr... 'invaders'.
I'd say at least 75% of the game is now complete, with controls and 3d buildings now working. I'm still yet to build in a credits system which would turn points into credits which you can then spend in an in game store customising and enhancing your own space tank.
In the video, the arrows are purely as a guide to the user for the first phase, after that they're on their own...
What it has:
• Retro B-Movie style visuals
• Truly original gaming experience.
• You steer your 'space tank' using the iPhones accelerometer.
• 3d Buildings which took around a month to code myself and run smoothly.
• Buckets of potential (it really could grow into a classic).
What it could have:
• Unlockables (Perhaps you unlock more colour, the more you achieve)
• Extra energy or bonus's drop from exploding invaders
• Force Fields
• Twin Lasers
• Blurry distant buildings
• Animated backstory
What funding will bring:
• Allow me to buy the wanted music track and sound effects
• Access to some more development features. (which cost bucks)
- The ability to publish to both Apple and the Android Marketplace
- Ability to post highscores on GameCentre leader boards around the world.
- External Link to a youtube backstory video (once created), discussion forum
- Customised Splash Screen (rather than a 3rd party one which advertises others).
Funding so far:
I've funded the Audio Invaders project so far by selling game templates from my website for people to go on and make their own games. It's never loads but has helped get this far.
