What we’re doing:
DoD (Dante or Die) are currently developing a brand new piece of site-specific dance-theatre for which we need to raise funds. Please help us make a piece that will be an immersive performance in a house, telling the story of this home growing old, and changing through the years. The piece will explore space, memory and time in a domestic setting.
Our team:
Led by DoD's experienced producers Daphna Attias (Director) and Terry O’Donovan (performer), 11 Lily Avenue will be a humorous, poignant and emotive piece in collaboration with award winning playwright Duncan MacMillan, designer Amy Jackson and musicians Lemez & Fridel.
What it will look like:
Audiences will follow the life story of a house that is occupied by a couple in fast-forward. They move into 11 Lily Avenue newly married, with boxes to unpack and a life to make together. We will whisk through years of life in the living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom in which photos are hung on the wall, a child is born, the washing machine breaks and wine stains on the sofa.
Who else is on board:
The development is being supported of Almeida Theatre, Rich Mix and the Unity Theatre Trust.
A little bit about DoD:
DoD, led by Daphna Attias and Terry O’Donovan, brings to life contemporary personal stories through process-led dance theatre and site-sensitive work. Through bespoke collaboration, they create thought-provoking, personal interpretation for their audience..
Most recently they created La Fille à la Mode, a site-responsive promenade piece at the National Theatre and Theatre Royal Haymarket; and Side Effects, which was performed at The Linbury Studio (ROH) and Laban Theatre. At the Dublin Fringe Festival Caliper Boy was nominated for the prestigious Spirit of the Fringe Award 2007. They have also been commissioned to create work for Latitude Festival.
