“endlessly inventive” The Metro
“profound and poetic” The Stage
Relentlessly the sea swallows first the road, then the row of bungalows and finally eats its way to the back door of “1 Beach Road”, where the inhabitants refuse to budge. Victoria and Jane are left standing at the edge of a precipice. The play asks "what is it like to lose everything - your mind and your home?"
We are currently creating a new physical theatre show "1 Beach Road" with a UK tour booked for the autumn 2011 and spring 2012.
Our research focused on the true stories from the coastal erosion currently happening in Norfolk and the historical and social implications - Peoples' homes are falling into the sea.
"1 Beach Road" will explore the metaphorical connections of of the erosion of the mind from Alzheimer’s and Coastal Erosion.
We are currently seeking funding to finish the design and build of the set we hope to take on tour. We are nearly there and hope that one last push here will get us the money we need!
